It has been almost 2 weeks…2 weeks of sleepless nights and a whole lot of upheaval around the Gilmore house…nope…I didn’t have another baby…

Meet Finn…
The kids had been hinting. Who am I kidding? It had gone WAY past hinting. In fact it had moved into the realm of down right begging. For over a year we had been hearing about the wonderful things a dog would bring to the family. They had done their research and everytime we saw a puppy on a walk, which in the burbs is all the time, we were told that a puppy would be just what we needed to make our family complete. We had been able to put it off due to my allergies to dogs but when the illustrious Google informed them that there were several breeds that were hypoallergetic….we were done for.
To be honest, I was sold from day one but it took a little more convincing for hubby…not one who enjoys change or mess…he was going to be a tough nut to crack. I have always enjoyed a challenge and so the kids and I entered into campaign “puppy love” and slowly but surely lulled the opposition into submission.
So when I finally heard the definitive, all be it, hesitant word…YES, I set out to find the perfect puppy. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the little white furball and together hubby and I formulated a plan to surprise the kidlets. We continued on as if everything was status quo. “No guys, mommy has allergies” No guys, Daddy doesn’t want a dog” “sorry guys, we are just too busy and it would not be fair to the puppy” “A puppy? You guys can’t even make your beds!”
One morning I headed out to bring Finn (yes, we love our Canucks….and Glee) home while the kids were out with Daddy. I called about 5 minutes out from home and Daddy put on on his best act and informed the kids that I was coming home with a very important person to be interviewed so they would have to be on their best behaviour. He even said that he was going to video my interview so that we could remember this very important event. They bought it…hook line and sinker! Their eyes were as wide as saucers and after a few apprehensive glances at us “is this for real?” “seriously…he’s ours?” They finally decided that we weren’t playing a trick..Finn was here to stay. Yes, Christmas came in June to the Gilmore house.
Fast forward a week and a bit and I am in LOVE. Tired..but in LOVE. I will not call him my Furbaby. I did not birth him..he is a puppy. I will not dress him in silly outfits…they make dolls for that. He is however a part of our family, a companion, a best friend in the making.
And with that the Gilmore Clan is complete.
Really nice photography. And the Hart House is an amazing place.I wish i could be invited :) .
